The rodenticide industry has recognised the need to address the concerns surrounding the responsible use of rodenticides and the need to ensure that rodenticides are used correctly and in ways that will minimise the exposure of wildlife.  The industry has therefore initiated the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU).

BASIS® is an independent organisation set up at the suggestion of the UK Government in 1978 to establish and assess standards in the pesticide industry relating to storage, transport and competence of staff.  It is an industry self-regulated scheme giving balanced and independent advice to registered distributors. 

In response to concerns about rogue traders a partnership of Local Authority Trading Standards Services have taken a ground-breaking step by putting together the 'Buy With Confidence Scheme'. The scheme includes local businesses which have given their commitment to trading fairly. Every business listed has undergone a series of detailed checks before being approved as a member of the scheme.
